Oh. em. gee. I can't take it anymore! I can't belive that they'd cancel something so sexy, uber and fantastically brilliant! God damn those freakin budget cuts... (we lost the RAH-66 Comanche on that boat too..)
If our damn military would just stick with a project, we'd be near freakin invincible! But no, we're still using the M4's and the M16's (which are really nice guns, don't get me wrong) when we could have weapons light years ahead of them. Sure, we're using other weapons too, but they're nothing compare to what we've tested and cancelled for no apparent reason other than a budget cut! Pfft...
Anyway, this is the XM8. The result of US military and H&K cooperation. Its a lightweight assault rifle that's superior in every way to the standard weapons we use today. Funny part is: we cancled it in 2005. Not only does it perform much better, it looks sexy as hell The damn thing was going to be the replacement for the old M16's :S
I won't go into super-rant mode, but I just wanna point out that this gun was an extremely versatile weapon; there's multiple variants and attachments. Like as shown. The one being used on the bottom is a marksman variant, while the one on the top is a Carbine with a 40mm grenade launcher. I mean hell, this thing even had a SAW configuration.
Lol, but I could go on all day with this. Just had to get that out there

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This news article features five deviants who took part in Comment Month through commenting on the deviations that were submitted.
Please give your time to this article and to write constructive comments so that you make a true difference to the artists featured here. Although not all may be underappreciated, their efforts deserve to be recognised and celebrated.
